The large scale topographic map as a urban basic geographic information system is a major space-based data. In the urban planning management, the transportation, public services, and other fields it plays a very important role. This paper combines the current needs of large scale topographic maps, topographic maps of the updated summary of the exist- ing technical methods, made quick update scientific and reasonable method.
