唐人街民族经济模式的形成与五邑华侨

National Economic Pattern in Chinatowns and Overseas Chinese from Wuyi

华裔学者运用“民族聚居区经济”模式的理论令人信服地揭示了唐人街存在、发展的动力和机制 ,改变了过去比较单纯地将唐人街看作是一个完全与外界隔离的贫困落后的移民聚居区的认识。同时 ,华裔学者又认为唐人街经济模式形成于 196 5年之后 ,是新侨民运动的产物。本文主要以欧美唐人街为分析对象 ,以唐人街主体人口———五邑华侨为切入点 ,试图证明 196 5年以前唐人街“民族聚居区经济”模式的存在是一个不争的事实 。

The theory of the pattern of “national community economy” raised by scholars of Chinese descent has convincingly revealed the motive force and mechanism for the existence and development of Chinatowns. And it has changed the idea people used to hold that Chinatowns were just poor and backward communities completely segregated from the outside world. Meanwhile, these scholars also suggest that the economic pattern of Chinatowns was formed after 1965 and it had come with the New Overseas Chinese Movement. This article takes the Chinatowns in both Europe and the United States as the basis for study and the overseas Chinese from Wuyi, the core population of Chinatowns, as the starting point. It attempts to prove that the pattern of “national community economy” had already existed before 1965, at least in Chinatowns in Europe and the United States.
