On the basis of the communicative theory,this paper expounds how to produce the multi－ media teaching material by an excellent software PowerPoint. The author emphasizes the appropriate evaluation of the role of this multi－ media teaching in the whole teaching process. On the one hand,multi－ media teaching can help to create a communicative learning environment;on the other hand,this advantage could be achieved only through the consideration of other related factors involved in the ELT
