留学生身份与“越境”行为——被忽视的现代留学生小说的典型之作

关于留学生文学的定义,学术界一直众说纷纭,原因是划分界限的多样化。留学生身份的独特性在于他们的越境行为,所以界定留学生文学应该以他们身上有无中外文化的冲突为标准。陈铨的《冲突》鲜明地反映了留学生身上两种民族文化融合和冲突的情况,是当之无愧的留学生小说代表作。留学生身上的陋习与社团中的宗派主义,与他们新潮时尚的外表构成了反讽;留学生摆脱传统婚姻伦理观念,转而倾向于自由恋爱,并在其间感受到矛盾与困惑,这体现了中西两种文化的冲突。除此之外,小说人物的人生观和价值观较多地体现其深受叔本华悲观主义思想的影响。

The uniqueness of overseas student＇ s identity is their behavior of crossing border, so the conflict between Chinese and foreign culture should be the standard of the defining overseas student literature. Chen Quan＇ s Conflict reflects integration and conflict situations of two kinds of culture in overseas students, so it should be the rep- resentative of overseas student novels. Bad habits in overseas students and sectarianism in associations form an ironic contrast to their trendy appearance. Overseas students, in the process of getting rid of their traditional marriage ethics, and pursuing free love, feel the contradiction and confusion between the two, which reflects the conflict between two kinds of culture. In addition, characters＇ outlook on life and value shows the influence of Schopenhauer pessimism philosophy.
