On LiBo's poetry Written in Guilin

李渤早年虽隐居自守,然"志存于朝廷";进入仕途历经"三朝四黜",内心又"忆归路"。特别是在贬往桂州期间,诗人早已厌倦官场的是非之争,闲暇之余创作了留给后世少之又少的诗作"以言其志"。李渤仅存的五首诗歌作于桂林或往桂林途中,作品中抒写了对秀色可餐的南国自然风物的无限赞美,流露出对贬谪仕途的厌倦情绪,同时表达了对闲适恬淡的隐逸生活的向往。诗作对隐山和南溪山的开发,对桂林旅游景区的发展具有重要意义。

Although Li Bo lived in solitude in early years, he was still ambitious about the matters in the imperial bureaucracy. When he started his official career, he experienced the alteration of several dynasties, whereas he recalled ＂the road of return＂ in his heart. Especially when he was relegated in Guilin, he was fed up of the official battle full of chaos, in leisure time; he created numerous poems for later generation to ＂express his ambition＂. The only five poems written by Li Bo were created on his way to Guilin, these articles illustrated his complements on beautiful natural sceneries in southern China, which revealed his boredom on his way of being relegated. They also conveyed the poet＇s yearn for calm and private life. The poet＇s exploitation of the Yinshan Mountain and Nanxi Mountain played a significant part in the development of tourist attraction of Guilin.
