如何做好专业英语教学是新建本科高校英语教学创新的热点课题。以计算机专业为例,分析高校的英语教学现状,结合计算机的专业特色提出专业英语教学的改革和创新策略。

College English is a compulsory course in each university and has the same teaching contents for students with different majors.However, how to teach English for special purpose （ ESP） is the subject of current college English teaching reform, especially of innovations in the English teaching in the newly-built universities.Take the major of computer science as an example.This paper analyses the present situation of college English teaching and, based on the characteristics of computer profession, some strategies for the reform and innovation in ESP teaching are proposed.
