试论翻译中的文化预设及其翻译策略——基于Nord翻译功能理论

On Cultural Presupposition in Translation and its Translation Strategies ——Based on the Functional Translation Theory of Nord

文化预设是沉淀于源语及源语读者心中的文化因素,是指导原语读者世界观、生活方式及行为方式的基本准则。它不仅制约着译者对原作的理解、文本信息的传递和接受,而且宏观上也影响着译者翻译策略的选择。Nord提出了翻译功能为主导的文本分析模式,预设性分析就是其中之一。文章基于Nord关于文本功能,及其在翻译过程中由于源语和目的语文化不同所产生的问题的论述,结合文化预设的例子,讨论分析Nord提出的文献式翻译和工具式翻译对文化预设翻译的实践指导作用。

Cultivated deeply in the target reader and their language, cultural presupposition is a kind of cultural factor that guides the source text reader＇s world views, life patterns. It not only restricts the translator＇s interpretation of reception and transmission the original text,but also affects translators＇choice of translation strategies on a macro level. Christiane Nord put forward a model for translation-oriented text analysis, among which cultural presupposition included. Based on Nord＇s elaboration of text function and the translation solutions caused by the cultural difference of the original language and the target one, this paper aims to explore practical translating instructions that Nord＇s documentary and instrumental translation do for the translation of cultural presupposition.
