摘要
明代士子的弃考可分为入学弃考和科举弃考两类。其成因主要有:士子失去了应考的条件;士子屡试不第;士子双亲年迈多病,须服侍奉养;士子遭遇时代或家庭巨变等。虽然明代大量士子放弃了考试,但他们大体上没有否定科举制。同时,弃考的选择不仅为少数士子施展其特殊才能,奉献社会提供了条件,而且有助于社会稳定,具有很强的务实性。
Scholars'abandonment of examination in the Ming Dynasty includes abandoning entrance examination and abandoning imperial examinations.
