Two-Photon Interference with Femtosecond Pulses

摘要 利用钛宝石飞秒激光超短脉冲抽运BBO晶体 ,产生Ⅰ型自发光参量下转换的双光子对 ,在实验上得到双光子对的四阶干涉现象 ,证明了双光子纠缠态的关联特性。 A BBO nonlinear crystal was used in the experiment. A pair of light quanta called signal and idler light quanta was produced through the nonlinear process of type I spontaneous parametric down-conversion with Ti: sapphire femtosecond pulses. The fourth-order interference phenomena were observed and the correlation behavior of the two-photon entangled state was demonstrated. Compared with continuous light the femtosecond pulses have higher down-conversion efficiency and higher yield of entangled light quanta pair, so that it is more favorable for optical communication.
