Intension and Impact of Revision of South Korea-US Missile Agreement

在朝鲜导弹战力日益增强的背景下,为了达到制衡朝鲜的目的,韩国向美国提出了修改《韩美导弹协定》延长导弹射程的要求,并得到了美国的同意。韩国导弹射程的延长打破了东北亚地区导弹领域的相对均势,增加了该地区国家间不信任与猜疑,使东北亚局势更加不稳。本文将围绕2012年韩美修改《韩美导弹协定》的背景及其过程进行分析,并探讨修改《导弹协定》提高韩国导弹射程的意图及影响。

As North Korea strengthens its missile power , South Korea requests the United States to revise South Korea-US Missile Agreement and extend its missile range so as to counterbalance the North Korea .This proposal was consented by the United States .The extended range of South Korean missiles broke the relative bal-ance in Northeast Asia and aggravated the distrust among neighboring countries in that area .In this paper , the background and process of the revision of the South Korea -US Missile Agreement in 2012 are analyzed .The inten-sion and impact of the revision are also discussed .
