The method of determining earthquake input principal direction are studied, which is used for seismic analysis of irregular bridges. According to this method, the maximum response of irregular bridges, in a particular member or at a specified point, can be easily calculated by two response spectrum analyses. In each response spectrum analysis, the earthquake input direction is not the same.
