Will tile newly emerged interactive video game (IVGs) become a new exercise approach'? The study sums up the relative researches on the effects of IVGs on physical education and fitness improvement. The result shows that IVGs has the positive role in enhancing physical exercise level and the learning of auxiliary motor skill. At the same time, it has the function of promoting participant's short-term motivation for participation and improving positively the mood and cognitive function. However, the results of the studies are not consistent. This shows that the psychological effect of IVGs depends on the comprehensive influence of other factors. And this conclusion needs confirmation in future researches.
