On Promoting Translation Research Quality of English Majors

在英语专业本科生的翻译教学中,不仅要注意翻译技能的培养,也要注意翻译研究素质的培养。要制订培养翻译研究素质的明确教学目标,在抓好翻译技能培养的同时,通过多种教学法的灵活运用、增设论文研讨课、增加练习形式、各门课程教师密切配合等教学改革措施。通过扩展和延伸翻译教学的时间与空间以及考核方式的改进,来实现培养翻译研究素质的目标。

In teaching the translation course for the undergraduates majoring in English, attention should be dedicated not only to the promotion of their translation skills, but also to the nurture of the translation research quality. A clear teaching target of training the translation research quality must be formulated and, by grasping tightly the development of the translation techniques, the goal of fostering the quality can be realized through the ways of using flexibly the various teaching methods, arranging additional dissertation seminars and plentiful exercises, carrying out teaching reforms such as close cooperation on the part of teachers of different courses and so on, diversifying the patterns of translation practice, lengthening and extending the teaching periods and spaces, and improving the examination measures.
