道路交叉口由于存在相交车流使其通行能力低于路段部分,采用交通控制信号,将较危险的大部分相交车流从时间上分离,从而提高行车的顺畅和安全,但仍有隐患。导向交通控制信号将绿灯期间的左、直行车依次放行,路口通行能力理论上略有下降,但由于路口行车秩序改善、安全性提高等因素的综合作用,实际通行能力反较非导向信号略有提高。

Traffic control signs of red,green and yellow are usually used to increase traffic capacity and secure traffic safety at street intersections,yet there are still hidden dangers.Now the guide sign system is introduced which divides green into two signs:left green and forth green.Theoretically it may reduce the traffic capacity,but it actually improves the traffic in terms of capacity as well as in terms of safety.
