This paper presents the work principle and software configuration of Hayes 2400 Modem in the distributed control system for the long distance conveyer. The software design of this type of distributed control system for real-time control is also discussed. The concrete step of error-control is introduced. The actual application proves the reliability of long distance data communication based on the Modem,thus the Modem has practical significance in the communication and on-line control of the distributed control system.
