近年来,美国新兴的以经营IP业务为主的电信公司正掀起新一轮大规模建设光纤网络的高潮,而中国也紧跟世界的步伐,将大量资金投向光纤通信网络。开发和应用新一代光纤已成为建设下一代网络基础设施的重要组成部分。目前出现的新一代光纤有全波光纤和非零色散位移光纤(NZDF)。详细介绍了新一代光纤相对于普通单模光纤的优点,包括衰减水峰和色散斜率的优化,以及新增窗口的应用。最后介绍了朗讯科技公司的新一代光网络解决方案,包括采用DWDM增加光纤链路的容量和采用新的光纤技术增加系统容量。
Currently a large-scale construction of optical communications networks is going on worldwide. Developing new optical fibers has become an important part of the evolution of next generation network infrastructure. The newly emerged optical fibers include all-wave optical fiber and Non-Zero Dispersion Fiber NZDF. The advantages of new generation fibers compared with ordinary single mode fiber are introduced in this paper. Finally Lucent Technologies' new generation optical network solutions are presented including using DWDM to increase the capacity of optical links and the application of new optical fibers to increase system capacity.
