Excel Application in the Undergraduate Teaching of Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics

在本科阶段,概率论与数理统计是大多数专业的一门很重要的基础课,实用性很强的课程,但在我国现行的教学中没有足够重视这门学科的实用性。本文通过举出几个典型的例子,阐述如何灵活地应用Excel软件中所提供的函数和数据分析工具和VBA来解决概率统计教学中的复杂计算、数据处理、定理的模拟等问题。采用Excel软件来进行概率统计教学,使得整个教学生动有趣,真正地使概率统计的实用性得以实现,提高学生的学习兴趣。

In the undergraduate stage, Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics is an important basic course of many specialties, it is a very pratical curriculum. But there is not enough attaches great importance to the practicability of the subject in our current teaching. This paper proposes several typical examples, it explains how the flexibility to provide in the application of Excel software functions and data analysis tools and VBA to solve the complex computation, data processing, simulation of problems in the teaching of Probability and Statistics. Using the Excel software to the teaching of Probability and Statistics can make the teaching lively and interesting, thus , it can be achieved to improve the students＇ interest in learning.
