Ecological Records of Southwest China as in Fan Chengda's Travel Notes

《骖鸾录》是范成大宦游广西途中写下的日记,《桂海虞衡志》是他进入桂林境内后写的笔记,《吴船录》是他在四川的记游录。这些作品都记录了其沿途所见的地貌、物产、气候以及动植物等,是南宋时期西南生态状况的真实写照。范成大为我们留下了宝贵的第一手生态资料,同时,关注环境、留意大自然、记录所见的点滴之美又是他留给我们的另一份珍贵的精神财富。

Fan Chengda （ 1126 - governments, including The Can Luart 1193） takes a lot of notes on what he Lu （Horses and Phoenixes： A Roamer＇ sees during his tenures in local s Notes）, a diary written on his way to Guangxi, The Gui Hai Yu Heng Zhi （Natural Resources of the Guilin District）, an account he writes during his stay in Guilin, and The Wu Chuan Lu （A Voyage back to Suzhou）, a record he makes in Sichuan Province. These documents, which describe the topography, resources, climate, animals and plants the au- thor sees on his way, are real pictures of the ecological situation in Southwest China during the Southern Song dynasty （ 1127 - 1279）. Fan has not only left the valuable first-hand ecological data for us, but also impressed us with his concerns with the environment and the nature as well as his sensitivity to the beautiful details therein.
