Summary Lactic acidosis （LA） is not rare in clinic,with the incidence rate of 0. 003%. The disease most like- ly suffers from diabetes. The symptoms of the disease are various and the prognosis is poor. 1 cases of severe lactic acidosis with lumbar musclepain as the first symptom of （SLA） was treated in our hospital. It was reported in the literature that the disease often can not be cured when the blood lactic acid （Lac） concentration is more than 13.3 mmol/L. We shared our experience of successful treatment for this case.
