Value of modern art

现代艺术以一种充满创造力和想象力的方式,联系于我们经验中对于今天的心理来说至关重要的那些方面,联系于知觉、感觉生活和所有那些决定了个体性的东西以及所有关于个性的观念,联系于所有日常生活中那些使个人最深刻地认识到他的存在的价值观。只有一个重大例外,因为这一艺术领域排除了那些属于经济和政治领域的价值和经验。但是,考虑到所有这些与自我的世界的联系,与感知着的、感觉着的、感受着的和自我认知的、投入到并探究着其自身的创造力和自由的个体性的联系,我们可以断定,过去七十五年来的艺术是我们这个时代的艺术,并且体现了我们文化中的那些最重要的价值。

Modern art is concerned in a creative and imaginative way with the aspects of our experience that are most important for psychology today,with the perception,the life of feeling and all that determines individuality,all notions about personality,and with all those values of everyday life in which the individual is most deeply aware of his own being.There is an exception on the ground that values and experiences that belong to the economic and political sphere are excluded.Given the relationship between self,creativity and individuality,it is safe to say that the art of the last seventy-five years is of our time and embodies the most important values of our culture.
