榫卯,是中国古代木工运用巧妙的思维创造出的运用于木构件之间的一种凹凸结合的连接方式,最基本的形式是将一个榫头插入对应件的卯眼中,而复杂的形式则是一组榫卯多向咬合,达到难分难解的地步。在中国古代,只要涉及木材使用的场合,榫卯就会自然而然的出现,无论是一座建筑、一扇门窗、或是一件家具,不仅起到了连接结构部件的作用,更是处处考虑到了外在的美观,体现着中国传统美学文化。
