当前，中国黄金矿业正面临黄金市场开放问题，而我们的大型企业的领导者如何与国际对接，增长这方面的知识，加快企业集团的战略发展步伐，向国外矿张．并实现国际资本的运营和黄金金融风险的控制与管理，已是当务之急。
2000 China Symposium on Gold Mining Economy and Development Strategy of Large Gold Enterprise Groups' was held on July 6-7 in Qingdao, Shandong Prov. This first China Gold Summit was sponsored by World Gold Council and the Gold Bureau of the State Economy and Trade Commission, and organized by Beijing Gold Economy and Development Research Centre. Sussi Credit First Boston Bank and Anglogold were co-sponsors. The main purpose of the meeting is to provide a chance for China gold mining industry to have better contact and understand of foreign mining companies and financial organizations. Under the new conditions of gradual opening, to seek new financing and co-operation channels, in order to create new chances for large scaled gold mines, and in turn, to push the development of restructure and consolidation. The delegates to this conference were limited to those large scaled gold operations. Most of them either have a revenue of more than RMB 100 million, a gold production of over one ton, or a profit of 10 million. It was really a high level meeting. Mr. Wnag Fujiang, Vice Present of China National Gold Corporation, presented at the gold conference. ML Simon Ford, Director Manager, International Precious Metals and Market, Sussi Credit First Boston Bank, made a presentation and discussed issues on global gold mining industry kith the Chinese gold producers. Mr. David Hodgson, Executive of Technology and Development of Anglogold, South Africa, introduced new teechnologies in gold exploration and mining. And Mr. Kevin Crisp, Director and analyst of Precious Metals and Commodity, Sussi Credit First Boston Bank, analysed the properties of gold and pointed out that gold price is Promising in long term. While Ma James Shang presented detailed introductions to gold mine financing and its methods, patterns and skills. And the Secretary Chief and Executive of international Affaires, World Gold Council, Mr. Jrevor Greenwood, introduced the aim, task and liability of World Gold Council. The symposium achieved great success in only two day programme. Some 30 delegates from all over China gold mining industry participated the meeting to share ideas with experts, broadened their thinking and learned new knowledge. The delegates were all rather active and show great interesting, and they appreciated this kind of the meeting and asked for more in the future.
