辜鸿铭汉译英诗中的归化翻译——以《痴汉骑马歌》的翻译为例

Domestication Strategy in Gu Hongming's Chinese Translation of English Poems——A Study Based on Gu's Chinese Translation of the English Poem The Diverting History of John Gilpin,Linen Draper

研究了辜鸿铭的汉译英诗的经典之作《痴汉骑马歌》,分析了辜鸿铭在汉译西方诗歌中的归化翻译,从而揭示了归化策略是译者对读者关照的体现,同时也发现辜鸿铭在英译儒经中的翻译原则同样也存在于辜鸿铭汉译英诗的翻译中。

The representative translation of Gu Hongming＇s Chinese translations of English poems, The Diverting History of John Gilpin, Linen Draper, are studied. The domestication strategy embodied in Gu＇s Chinese translation of English poem is analyzed. The analysis shows that the domestication strategy in Gu＇s translation has a strong intention to introduce foreign poems from the respect of the Chinese readership~ meanwhile, it reveals that the translation principles in Gu＇s English translation of Confucian classics can also be found in Gu＇s Chinese translations of English poems.
