De--familiarization＂ is the core concept of Russian formalism. Russian formalists advocate ＂strange language＂, that is, to ＂rape＂ everyday language in an organized way to create literariness. De --familiarization of the language in the Bridges of Madison County is to use a large number of repeti- tions.
