On the N-V Shift in the Chinese and English Language

汉英语言中都存在名词动词化现象,在现代英语中这一用法极为普遍;而汉语中这种用法则多出现于古代文学作品,现代汉语中出现较少。本文试图从名词动词化的概念、形成的动因和分类三方面进行分析,让中国的英语学习者加深对汉英语言中这一用法的了解和认识,从而能更多地欣赏到这一语言现象的简洁、灵动之美。

The N--V shift phenomenon exists in both Chinese and English language. The usage is commonly applied in the English and ancient Chinese literature works, while barely used m modern t^nl- nese. This article attempts to analyze the phenomenon from three aspects： the concept, motivation and classification of N--V Shift, so that the English learners in China can deepen their understanding of such usage and appreciate the beauty of this language phenomenon.
