摘要
目的论是德国功能派翻译理论的主要理论之一。文章以目的论为理论框架,分析杨宪益夫妇与霍克斯对《红楼梦》章回目录英译(以下称杨译,霍译)的不同之处,进而探析两译本预期达到的交际目的。
Skopos theory is one of the major theories in the Functionalist approaches. Based on this theory this paper is intended to analyze the differences between the Young＇s＇translation and David Hawke＇s translation of the chapter titles in A Dream of Red Mansions and further figure out the＇ different communicative purposes behind the two English versions.
