Prairie Culture and Modernity——A Case Study of Mongolian Literature in China

文章围绕中国蒙古族文学与现代性的关系展开,阐发了蒙古文学中古代即有潜在的现代性元素,当代则有更多自觉或不自觉的现代性理念的事实,揭示出与汉文化不同的个性及其对中华民族的独特贡献;同时对现代性和文学现代性、民族性、草原文化、蒙古族文学等概念及其界定均有新的思考,以期为蒙古族文学、民族文学研究提供见仁见智的思考向度;由此也为当下中国文学的深入研究、混乱认识的澄清提供一些参照。

In the paper, centering upon the relationship between Mongolian literature in China and modernity, the author expounds upon the fact that there was the potentiality of some modern elements in the Mongolian literature in the Medieval ancient and medieval eras and now there is an emergence of more conceptions of modernity-consciously or unconsciously; and the author also reveals the uniqueness of the Mongolian culture, which is quite different from the Chinese one, and uncovers its unique contri- bution to the Chinese nation by pondering freshly over the definitions of the following conceptions like ＂modernity＂, ＂literary modernity＂, ＂nationality＂, ＂prairie culture＂ and ＂Mongolian literature＂ in the hope of providing a different perspective for the related research on Mongolian literature and national liter- ature and hence offering some reference for clarifying the confusions in the further study of contemporary Chinese literature.
