AN APPROACH TO THE ECOLOGICAL AESTHETIC WISDOM IN THE SINGING FAIR (GE XU) OF MINORITY IN SOUTHERN CHINA

歌圩是极富岭南民族特色和地方色彩的传统习俗文化活动。歌圩依托于"峒"和"那"之中,体现了人与自然相依相生的和谐之美。歌圩作为一种巫术礼仪,是岭南民族人神沟通的媒介,以达到农业丰收、种族绵延之目的,体现了人与神之间的和谐之美。歌圩不仅是民族个体与他人、民族与民族之间情感联络、文化交流的场地,也是个体自身超越生存的苦难,通达诗意栖居的重要途径。

The singing fair （also known as Ge Xu） is a traditional customary and cultural activity with unique features of local minorities in southern China. It usually takes place in hillside （also known as ＂Dong＂ ） or field side （ also known as ＂Na＂ ）, embodying the beauty of harmonious co - existence between human and nature. As a kind of witchcraft rituals, the singing fair acts as a medium to communicate people and gods in order to reach goals of agricultural harvest and birth - giving. It embodies the harmonious beau- ty between man and gods. Not only does the singing fair serve as a place to the emotional communication of oneself with others and cultural exchange between minority groups, but it is also an important way to over- come the bitterness of survival and to reach a poetic habitation for oneself.
