中篇小说《心的阴翳》是尾崎红叶的重要代表作之一,它以迥异于作者之前的构文方式,描写了盲人按摩师佐之市对富家小姐久米的执念暗恋与苦恼,以及久米面对恋情的人生抉择与萌生的"心的阴翳"。文章在耙梳楫理先行研究的基础上,以小说所述"阴翳"的主体内涵为考察对象,通过对《心的阴翳》文本进行重新考察,来探讨在江户传统文学和欧化风潮交错的时代背景下,尾崎红叶创作出此篇小说的真正用意所在。

Kokoronoyami is one of the most important works by Ozaki Kouyou. The novelle, in a quite different composing manner from the previous ones used by Ozaki Kouyou, describes the persistent secret love and anguish of Sanosuke the blind to Kume, the daughter of a rich. The novelle also describes the choice and agony in the mind of Kume.The paper, based on a summary of the previous studies, reexamines the text of Kokoronoyami so as to study the real intention of Ozaki kouyou in facing the mixed background of traditional literature and westernized trend of literature when he composed the work.
