Western Europe, Asia Pacific and North America will continue to be the main supply region of high - quality lubricants. In the next few years, the new plant will allow the natural gas - to - liquid （GTL） device capacity to in- crease by about 40.41 million barrels/day. This provides a large proportion of the world＇s demand for high quality lu- bricants. More than 50% of the global GTL plants will be built in Qatar. In this paper, from opportunities of high - grade lubricants market, the influence of GTL project on the global base oil capacity and its development prospects by 2020 are presented.
