从信息传输到可视化：地图制图学视角下的知识地图理论研究

Communication and Visualization: Knowledge Maps from the Perspective of Cartography

文章首先将地图传输理论作为研究视角,重新审视布鲁克斯的知识地图设想,揭示知识地图的基本工作原理。进而引入地图可视化理论进一步解析这一概念的内涵,并在地图学标准下将其划分为信息传输知识地图和可视化知识地图。最后以Cartography Cube模型为依据,从数据使用、受众范围、人与地图之间的互动程度三个方面展望知识地图理论与实践的发展趋势。

The purpose of this paper is to provide richer insight into the theory and praxis of Knowledge Maps. From the perspective of Cartographic Communication, Brooks＇ conception of knowledge map is re-examined and the rationale for a typical Knowledge Map is revealed. Cartographic Visualization is introduced to further investigate the contents of this concept, and Knowledge Maps are divided into two categories measured by the criteria of cartography： Communication and Visualization. According to MaeEachren＇s Cartography Cube, this paper also envisions the future trends of study on Knowledge Maps from three aspects, which are data usage, the range of map users and the interactivity between human and the map.
