发刊词的作用在于阐明办刊的缘由、目的,是编者办刊思想的浓缩。民国时期科普期刊的发刊词,明确了科普的对象、目的,体现了鲜明的时代特征,蕴含了强烈的科学救国思想,是科学文化精英科普实践的理论依据。对该时期科普期刊发刊词的考察,有助于深入把握当时科普思想的内涵。对民国时期科普思想的探讨,是科普史研究的重要组成部分,也可为当前科普理论与科普实践的发展提供借鉴。
The forewords explain the causes and ends of the periodicals which are the original idea of the publication. The forewords to popular sci- ence periodicals in the period of Republic of China, illustrate the target of universal education, have a distinctive age characteristic and the thought of saving the nation through science, which are theoretical basis of the practice of scientific popularization. Research on forewords to popular science pe- riodicals in the period of Republic of China helps us to further understand the connotation of the thoughts on popularization of that time. The study on the thoughts on popularization in the period of Republic of China is an important part of history of popular science, which may lend humans some added irtsight into the development of theory and practice of popular science,
