By taking dual-colored symbols "black and white/red and white" as an entry point, this paper explores the bipolarity that occurs in pairs and their relation of opposition and unification which reflected different cultural contents due to different cultural backgrounds of Bonism, Buddhism, art, and folk customs. This paper draws conclusion that whether the "black and white" relation of opposition and unification is rooted and originated in Bonism, or ancient Indian Buddhist influences of "black and white" and "red and white" relation of opposition and unification, the forming of their symbolization and implication due to the duality has close historical rela- tionship with religious doctrine of both Bonism and Buddhism.
