The classifacations,features and applications of automatic welding equipment used in jar and tube shaped workpieces are analysed and studied.Also the design idea, structures and the development process of a new arm type automatic welding carriage are introduced.And with the successful development of this arm type automatic welding carriga,an advanced welding equipment for vertical seam gas shielded welding and submerged arc welding of tube shaped workpieces is appeared.
