As the largest international horticultural event in the modern industrial society, the International Horticultural Expo has its own glorious history. Since the first International Horticultural Expo was held in London in 1851, thus far the International Horticultural Expo has been held more than 30 times, which has brought about great changes for the hosting countries and cities. Qingdao is a coastal city boasting azure sky and blue sea. In 2008, Qingdao hosted the Olympic sailing competition and Paralympic sailing competition, thus becoming a focus attracting worldwide attention. In the post-Olympic era, Qingdao is still prosperously developing. In 2009, the International Association of Horticultural Producers(AIPH / IAHP) granted the hosting right of the International Horticultural Expo to Qingdao, which became another important international event after the Olympic sailing competition to be held in Qingdao.
