摘要
就《破戒》性质的认识分为"私小说"和"社会小说"两大阵营,二者却一致认为:濑川丑松的告白和移民德克萨斯是其不彻底的自我的表现,也是作者对社会现实的屈服和逃避。但基于佛教重新审视,就会发现这些均为丑松基于他力本愿的救赎行为,藤村藉此表达了对种姓和身份等级制度的谴责和彻底抗争。
The critics of Hakai fall into two groups: one takes it as an Ich-Roman and the other as a social novel. The two groups, nevertheless, share a surprisingly identical opinion about the novel' s end: Segawa Usimatus ' s confession and migra- tion to Texas is a symbol of an indecisive self as well as his subservience to and evasion from social realities. Then, if exam- ined from the Buddhist perspective, it turns out that all Ushimatsu ' s acts are out of his effort to seek redemption. The author demonstrates his condemnation of the cruel caste and stratified society and his determination to fight against it.
