摘要
隐喻翻译认知体验论立足隐喻认知性质,强调隐喻生成的心理基础和理解的心理机制,认为隐喻翻译即源喻认知体验的确证,社会、文化、文本语境和译者认知能力决定翻译策略。修辞同一理论却认为,隐喻翻译是通过同一劝说受话对象参与合作的修辞行为。文章根据修辞同一理论,从同一角度考察隐喻创造性把握歧义、晦涩、矛盾的方式,和隐喻创生新知识、推进新认识、诱发新行动的修辞功能,提出隐喻认知体验的确证仅是译者修辞同一的一种选择,引导合作才是最终目的,因此,隐喻翻译应采取修辞同一视角。
The rhetorical theory of identification views metaphor translation as a rhetorical persuasion of participation and cooperation by means of identification. From this perspective, this article discusses the creative ways in which metaphor deals with ambiguity, paradox and irony, explores its rhetorical functions of creating knowledge, promoting understanding and inducing cooperation, and proposes that cooperation-induction ultimately determines strategy choices, cognitive-experience confirmation being but one possibility of the translator’s identification. It concludes that metaphor translation should adopt the rhetorical approach.
