沈从文对湘西边地那纯美景色与自然人性的热情赞颂与理想化描摹,丰富了我国现代乡土文学的整体内涵。此外,构设"湘西世界"体现出的批判都市文化弊端的主题也对文学史有着不可低估的影响。由此可见,以文学史的眼光对"湘西世界"进行考察,有着相当重要的意义。

Shen Congwen gave warm tribute and idealized description to the pure landscape and natural humanity of Xiangxi, which enriched the connotation of the whole Chinese modern native literature. In addition, the theme that the Xiangxi World reflected of criticizing ＂urban cultural drawback＂ has inestimable influence on the literary history. Thus the examination from the view of literature is very significant.
