《御座诗章》是埃兹拉·庞德晚年被拘押在华盛顿圣伊丽莎白精神病院期间所作,其中的第98-99诗章大部分取材于中国清代统治者制定的《圣谕广训》。国内外学界尚无人从文化研究的角度探讨上述诗章。本文从现存庞德与中国青年诗人王燊甫的来往信件和其他相关资料出发,分析二人之间的交往如何促成第98-99诗章对《圣谕广训》的再阐释。1957年初庞德写信要王燊甫把半文言的雍正《广训》译成英文,并和王探讨相关的思想和概念,他们的交流充实了《御座诗章》的中国文化内容。本文不仅揭示王燊甫对庞德创作第98-99诗章的具体贡献,也为读者深入理解《御座诗章》提供有益的参考。

Pound＇s Cantos 98-99 as part of the Thrones section of The Cantos have never been approached from the perspective of cultural studies. Based on published and unpublished materials, this paper traces Cantos 98-99＇s reinterpretation of Kangxi＇s Sacred Edict to little known interactions between Pound and David Rafael Wang. In February 1957 Pound asked Wang to translate Yongzheng＇s expanded version of the Edict into English. A wealth of the Edict material and other Chinese notions Pound and Wang discussed went into Cantos 98-99. The paper is intended not only to bring to light the specific contribution Wang made to Cantos 98-99 but also to open up some of Pound＇s finest late lyrics.
