With more frequent intercultural communication, understanding and tolerance, cross-cultures come to be essential to cultural interfusion. In the era when ethnocentrism and cultural imperialism prevail, the idea of cultural relativism is very significant for mutual-understanding among different cultures. Starting from the theoretical origin of cultural relativism and analysis of views on it, this article is intended to explore the positive attitude we should hold on cultural relativism in order to facilitate intercultural communication and contribute to understanding around the globe.
