语言与社会互动——论乔叟文学创作中的影响因素

Interaction between Language and Society:Factors that have Influenced Chaucer

作为"英国诗歌之父",乔叟在英国文学中占有重要的地位。通过对《坎特伯雷故事》序诗的文本分析以及对乔叟家族与王室家族谱系历史学考证,本文认为乔叟文学创作与中世纪英语语言的发展、当时政治社会情绪高度一致,并形成了较大的影响。乔叟的成名也映证了语言文学发展与社会进步之间密切的互动关系。

As ＂father of English poetry＂, Chaucer occupies an important position in British literature. Through textual analysis of the prologue of The Canterbury Tales as well as historical investigation into the genealogical net- works between Chaucer and the royal family, this paper argues that Chaucer＇s literary career is highly influential be- cause it accords with medieval language development and the soeio-political mood at that time. Chaucer＇s success also highlights the close interaction between literary development and social progress.
