The essay tackles the Jewish musical life and the Jewish Kulturbund(cultural league) in Nazi Germany between 1933 and 1941,focusing on the way they reconstructed the Jewish identity and a substantial cultural ghetto in the hard times, eloquendy voicing their resistance against Nazi's spiritual persecution. This musical life was also the prelude to the later Shanghai Jewish diaspora musical life during 1938 and 1947.
