The development history, classification and anticorrosion mechanism of zinc-rich coatings were introduced. The performance characteristics between the inorganic zinc-rich coatings and the organic zinc-rich coatings were compared. The research of zinc-rich coatings were previewed. The constructive suggestions for the zinc-rich coatings to achieve low pollution, efficient and multifunction were given.
