A Criticism of the “Notes Novel”Concept and Reclassification of Notes Works

"笔记小说"这一概念本身具有逻辑混乱的不足,这一概念的使用造成了小说概念上的混乱、目录学的混乱。造成这种混乱局面的表象是中国古代小说的理论研究落后于时代的变迁,没能正视小说界已经发生的古今之变和中西之辨,实际上则体现了古今小说概念的冲突、古今主流思想的冲突、古今学科分类的冲突。文章针对以上现象和原因,提出了将笔记类作品划分为"小说类笔记"、"历史类笔记"、"考据类笔记"和"杂俎类笔记"的解决方法。

The concept of ＂Notes Novel＂ has insufficiency of logic. The use of it causes the confusions of no- vel and bibliography.
