河北省历史悠久,文化渊源有自。明代迁都北京后,北方书业开始复兴。河北地处京畿,政治、经济、文化因有京城的辐射,其文化及书业也随之活跃起来。至民国时期,河北辖区政治形势错综复杂,各种政权交替更迭,战争频仍。但这个期间,中国共产党领导下的根据地、解放区创造了河北出版史的奇迹,留下了丰富的历史资料。结合历史实际来看,《河北出版史志资料选辑》及相关书籍,它们总体上反映了河北出版从古到今的发展情况,特别是比较充分地挖掘、整理了党的出版史料,起到了资政、教化、存史的目的,促进了河北出版志的编写刊行,也为地方的出版实践提供了有益的历史资源。
