The soul of Jingdezhen can be felt and glimpsed through a piece of porcelain. Ancient China was founded on agriculture, though there were daring and enterprising days, on the whole, it was conservative and introverted. But there is an exception, in China’ long history of thousands of years, Jingdezhen has always been led by the ceramics industry, or hailed as a city, as it were, established upon ceramics-oriented industry, as if it were born to shake the world with handicraft industry and foreign trade, or destined to face the outer world with an open attitude.
