在《新建筑》杂志举办的以"走向新建筑"为主题的论坛上,作者针对性地将"建筑"、"新建筑"、"现代建筑"三个基本概念在中、西方不同语境中不同意义和相应关系,进行循序渐进的讨论;意图是在中国文化背景下,帮助读者厘清这些概念的文化定义及其相互之间的一些关系,并加深对建筑学科、专业的学术理解。

On the forum of ＂Towards New Architecture＂ organized by the New Architecture magazine, the author focused on basic concepts of ＂Architecture＂ , ＂New Architecture＂ , as well as ＂Modern Architecture＂ with different meanings in the contexts of Western and Chinese, made the discussion for those concepts one by one; it attempted under the cultural background of China, to help readers to clarify those cultural definitions and relationships among those concepts, to strengthen again academic understanding for architecture as the discipline and profession.
