从巴斯特奈文化翻译理论看民俗文化的英译——以福建省民俗文化汉英翻译为例

English Translation of Fujian Folk Culture from the Perspective of Susan Bassnett's Cultural Translation Theory:A Case Study of the Translation of Fujian Folk Culture

巴斯奈特的文化翻译理论认为翻译不是单纯的文字处理,而是文化内部以及文化之间的交流,翻译的对等就是原文与译文之间的文化功能的对等。以文化翻译理论为指导,笔者主张采用音译加注释、直译加注释、意译加注释、省略等翻译方法,翻译福建民俗文化,以期创出最佳译文,满足文化交流需要。

According to Basenett＇ s cuhural translation theory, translation is the communication of both intra - culture and inter - culture instead of a pure linguistic behavior. Translation equivalence is the cultural functional equivalence between the source text and the target text. As one of the most impor- tant parts of the Chinese civilization, Fujian folk culture has rich and distinctive connotation and plays an essential part in promoting Chinese national culture. Under the guidance of cultural translation theo- ry, four different translation methods are suggested： Transliteration with extratextual gloss, literal translation with extratextual gloss, free translation with extratextual gloss, and omission.
