The Role of Minnan Folk Beliefs and Customs in Cross-strait Communication

闽南与台湾民间信俗关系密切,在台湾有较大影响的民间信俗神灵大多祖庙都在闽南;民间信俗在闽台交流合作中关系重大,作用明显:成为率先打破两岸"坚冰"的先锋,密切了两岸同胞的宗亲乡谊,促进两岸经贸交流与合作,并将在祖国统一大业进程中发挥其独特的作用。因此,重视和引导民间信俗文化,将是今后一个重要的工作方向。

Taiwan has a kinship with Minnan in the field of folk beliefs and customs. Most of the important gods in Taiwan are derived from headquarter temples in Minnan region. Minnan folk beliefs and customs plays a crucial role in the cooperation between Fujian and Taiwan,which firstly broke the ＂Cross-strait Ice＂. Also,it strengthens the relationships of compatriots among China's Mainland and Taiwan, facilitating cress-strait economic cooperation and trades. Last but not the least,it will do exclusive and effective contributions to national unity. Therefore ,the guidance in the field of folk beliefs and customs is deserved to be emphasized and supported in the future.
