Objective To evaluate the affect on vital signs of constant rate infusion at different speeds and target controlled infusion of propofol in elderly patients during general anesthesia intubation induction process. Methods 60 cases of elderly patients was performed anesthesia for elective surgery in our hospital. All these patients were randomly divided into two groups according to the order of admission of 30 patients. The control group of patients used target-controlled infusion propofol anesthesia while the study group patients used different speeds constant rate infu-sion of propofol anesthesia. To compare hemodynamic change, blood pressure change during induction intubation process. Results The study group had a stable hemodynamic change. The control group before intubation(T1),intubation(T2),5min after intubation(T3)had a signifi-cant change when compared with before induction of anesthesia and the study group. The difference was statistically significant( P 〈0. 05). The blood pressure of 21 cases of the control group patients' changed over 30% during the induction of anesthesia and intubation, which was significant-ly higher than 5 cases of the study group. The difference was statistically significant( P 〈0. 05). Conclusion Constant infusion at different speeds of propofol induction of anesthesia in elderly patients has a small inhibition in cardiovascular. This method is simple and easy to control, which is worthy of clinical application.
